Why Choose an Eldercare Companion and what are the benefits?
Every family is unique, and therefore the type of caregiver needed
will vary person to person. Eldercare companions are becoming
increasingly popular in North America as our population ages.
Many of our elderly do not need, nor want to move into a nursing
home. However, they may forget to take medications, be unable
to drive, and as family members we want to ensure our loved ones are
not left alone, incase something were to happen.
Eldercare Companions are an
alternative allowing more freedom for the elderly to continue living
their lives, in their own homes, sticking to routimes and daily
comforts that are vital to their quality of life. An Eldercare
Companion is just what it sounds like (a companion/friend) to be
there when needed. They can live-in or live-out depending on
what is required. What is key is that the same person will
be exclusively available to your loved one each day.
 Eldercare Companions can
perform the following duties:

Prepare meals

Shop for groceries, run errands

Take care of pets

Do light housekeeping, including laundry, making beds, dust, etc.

Remind and ensure medications are taken properly and on time

Drive to and from appointments or social activities

Ensure the safety of your loved ones at all times

We interview and screen Canadian top-qualified Personal Support
Workers
(PSW) and Development Support Workers (DSW), and Nurses (RN)
who are experienced with the elderly.
Wages paid to the caregiver go directly to the caregiver.
Family Care Connection does not take any wages. Wages starting
at $10.00/hour and up.
